What about the game projects you mentioned?
Some time ago, I got the idea that I would like to be a game designer, around that time I was playing the game Escape Velocity for Macintosh, and was quite interested in its format. After playing it for a long time I set out to make my own EV plug-in, I worked on it for a time, and then let that project go.
On April 27th of 1999 I wrote a brief article on the development of a game aptly titled 'the game'. This was going to be a story set in space, where you would be the captain of a trading vessell, and the story would evolve around you. This story was in development for a very short length of time, but it set precident for future writings as I found that I enjoyed the scene quite a bit.
On or around February 2nd, 2000 I finished a rough draft of a story called Chaos Unlimited which was to be an RPG, this story was in development for much longer than the first, almost two months, and I must have written about 30 pages. The story evolved and became The Chaos Project, however this was also abandoned sometime in April of 2000.
Around the summer of 2000 I began another project called ThePhoenix, which was to be another RPG. It got about as far as the The Chaos Project (name changed to The Shield, circa 10/2000). Development proceded into this winter, and I felt I was geting somewhere, however I lost interest around November, and I havent worked on it since. Recently I managed to delete all the files regarding 'The Phoenix', I take this as more or less a sign to let that path go, therefore development will not continue.
I haven't stuck with any of these things since 1999, but I belive it has to do with some old thought paterns and a perceived lack of mental discipline, as of now I am in the process of thinking up a story which will be based on the origional world of The Shield, I expect to begin development today, and I should be close to having a full 'first draft' by February.
